Catherine

If you haven't noticed, I've been trying some new things (a different style). Not to say I've perfected anything. For instance with the cut of the top; it does something weird near the straps that wouldn't bug most people but has bugged the heck out of me. Next dress cut like this I'll figure out a solution. Although new techniques will take tweaking--I am taking more risks. Hopefully those risks will produce some beautiful things. Vitamin Ci-Catherine has an old time feel with a modern touch. Sexy, yet classy, Catherine comes in three colors: Gold (shown), Silver, and Red. Each outfit comes with a top, two skirt legnths, and a flexi scarf. Items available @ Vitamin Ci's main store in Extraordinaire. Stop on by!

Correction...No Jolee Blue

So, my addicts and a couple of people who heard by word of mouth this morning got a chance to take advantage of an 1L outfit from my store. Reason being? Well, after staring at the Jolee outfits, I decided that the blue one was just plain ugly. All the rest grew on me and I figured that soon that one would too...but, it never did...and I could not in good conscience have people spending that much money on an outfit of mine that I thought was ugly...sooo, I made another color: Olive. I put it in the pack and sold the blue one for 1L until I finished changing the advert for the outfits. I was surprised at the response for an 1L item. A customer named Candee bought her entire Lucky Chair crew with her; it was funny. At any rate, out with the Blue (except @ Body Perfect in their newbie section), and in with the Olive. It fits much better and now I'm in lurve! Enjoy!

Bundle Up v2.0

If you're a designer, I'm sure you've made something where at the time you thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, but then realized months later there are much needed improvements. It's not against the law to go back and revisit your designs to make them your best--especially if you've gotten better with technique. First, with this outfit, all I was going to do is change the skirt to flex. Then I thought about all the custom requests I recieved on this outfit when it first came out: sweater covering entire belly, pants and skirt options, more plaid please (Minx is always asking for plaid). So, instead of just flexatizing it--I redid the whole thing! Now each Bundle Up color includes two turtlenecks: one cutoff and the other long, a pair of slacks, shorts, and a flex prim skirt. There is also an additional pack of turtlenecks in bright colors as well. Check them out @ Vitamin Ci's main store on Ocean Drive. They're in the "new" section in the center of the store! ENJOY!

Unless it's slutwear, it wont sell...

What do you think about that? No exposed belly or T&A...does that make for a sales disaster? Lots of people seem to think so. In a world full of slutwear and attatchable genetalia, a small population of people complain that they cannot find anything to wear. I remember when I first started Vitamin Ci...it was to cater to those people. The people who wanted more clothes on than not. A few days ago...a new person stopped by the store and asked...."Are there any clothes around that...covers up stuff?" Of course than was insulting to me because she was standing in MY store...and I don't sell slutwear...there are a few naughty things here and there but slutwear, NUT UH! After I made a few suggestions though, I got to looking around in my store. Sure, the quality of my designs have gotten better, but my skirts have gotten shorter, tops skimpier, and pants as low as they can go. Why? Because I started to cater to the bigger crowd, than the crowd my line was intended for. Here's an outfit for you all that wonder where the old Vitamin Ci went...Liz...comes in 3 colors (cocoa shown)available @ Vitamin Ci's main store in Extraordinaire.

I'm Miffed!

Why, you may ask? ...and so what if you don't. My blog, my rants, k? My girl A.J. got sent home on America's next top model! What is that about?! She had a kickass runway walk AND she takes fabulous pictures. Okay, so she messed up in ONE challenge. Jada on the other hand hasn't had a great photoshoot YET. Why are they keeping her around? I don't hate Jada...I just love A.J. What were they thinking? She even won Top Model’s cover girl of the week the day she was cut. I guess the producers didn't want A.J. to win for whatever reason and wanted to axe her out while they had a chance. I think it was between her and Melrose all along. I would have loved to see those two opposites hash it out.... Now the heffer has no competition! Okay, maybe CariDee. We'll see. *Sighs* Bye A.J....believe me, you can still be a supermodel if it's something you want to pursue.

O...M...G! Hair Touching NO NO!

I saw this video and I wanted to slap Barabra myself. I admired the class Brandy and Tanika Ray had in this incident. In most cases that could have turned ugly! Look at both of these women's faces when she initially touches their head. People...generally, have their personal space and I suspect hair pulling is a little too much for EVERYONE...but just in cas e it isn't.... A: Never put your hands in an African-American woman's hair unless she says "Touch my hair, please." (by the way, that's never going to happen unless you're a professional hair stylist). B: Never ask "Is that your real hair?" WTF? There's so many things wrong with that. Barbara Walters doesn't live in a bubble somewhere in Connecticut. She's a journalist that has been all over the world and encountered many cultures. She knows--she was just being....rude. Not cute Barabra...not cute at all!

The Wear and Terry of Wrinkles

Um, yeah....I don't know what I'm talking about in that title either. But yeah! So....this is my new favorite outfit for a few reasons: it's simple, something I'd actually wear in real life, and...and...AND I successfully drew wrinkles. Yes, I know you're just as excited as I am...because these wrinkles are not scary...no no...they look nice...this would all be thanks to Starley's article in the current issue of Second Style. I'm not perfect at it yet BUT I've come a long way...and just think, during a time...where I have no time. Yes kids, I'm still in school...teaching my little rear off...yay! Speaking of teaching...We come to the dress name: Vitamin Ci-Terry. I named it after one of my loverly professors. Not because she's my favorite...not because she isn't...but just because I was thinking about an assignment in her class while making me creation. It comes in 6 lovely colors...and blue (I'll give you the blue one free if you IM me...I'm not going to sell it...I didn't like it so much). Stop by me store...today!

Cheetahlicious

Jackal Ennui, of Lassitude & Ennui, made these really hot high heeled sandals called Feral a few weeks ago and they were a must have. Even though I had nothing in a cheetah pattern I HAD TO HAVE these sandals...so I bought them, in hopes that I would have time to make something to match. Yesterday, my thoughts became a reality with Chee. Vitamin Ci-Chee comes in the Feral color as well as Red, Purple, and Black. It's quite a simple dress but as Nali put it "It's not your usual but it still manages to be sexy and classy". It's already recieved several thumbs up! Feel free to stop by the Extraordinaire sim on Ocean Drive and check out Vitamin Ci's "new" section. There you'll find me cats meow! ENJOY! xoxo

Lots of Thangs...

...have been going on. Some of you may have noticed my abscence but most of you have not. I can tell by the large number of offlines wondering how I am (no, really I can't) :-))

Anyway, I've not been on SL so no designing...BUT...I have been enjoying myself RL. I threw a suprise birthday party for my mother last Saturday and that bought me to my parents home. I've not left since. Although they do have the internet, none of their computers have the capability to do SL (suprise, they're not big gamers), which is good for me, cause that means I haven't sat on me arse a lot-- but bad because I've not had a chance to create anything. Either way, the store has been doing great so I thank my customers for their continued support (especially with all the horrid updates I've heard about). If by some chance I didn't get a message from you concerning a purchase because of all the capped messages I recieved (again, not really) please let me know. I've responded to all the offlines that reached my yahoo mail so hopefully, I got to all of you :-D

Another great announcment is that my neice is okay--not that any of you knew she wasn't....Yesterday she choked on something, had to be taken to the emergency room, and it was quite hectic for all of our family. She's my ace! Thankfully, whatever she was choking on either was plastic, passed or she threw up (it didn't show up on x-ray), and all is well. She's back to being my little Yama (my nickname for her), avoiding my kisses, and using the "point and laugh" method when I pretend to cry about it. I have to give God a big thumbs up for working this out for me. Life wouldn't be the same without my Bri.

This weekend I'm heading to Florida to enjoy a little before "back to school" fun. I'm sure there will be plenty of excitment. I'll be staying at my grandmother's home that is haunted. Don't believe me? IM me sometime and I'll tell you the stories :-)) Alot of my family lives in Florida so I'm sure I'll get to see them at some point. If you see me online before Monday afternoon, it's either Lonewolf Mackenzie or Lollypop Extraordinaire. Both of them will be checking my sales and offlines periodically so I can keep the customers happy. See you all Monday! :-D

Who's Martha?

She's sexy, classy, and a little on the preppy side. She's a nerd, she's the star, she's got spunk...she's you! Introducing, Vitamin Ci-Martha... I'm actaully quite pleased with how this turned out and it didnt' consist of me sweating over prims, thank GOD! The top and the skirt have the sweater pattern on it so you get the whole sweater-vest and button down shirt underneath, look. There's a little paisley detail on the cuffs of the sleeves and socks. Then you have argyle socks with that same argyle trim on the hem of the skirt. I lubs eet! I hope you do too...it's available in so many colors, you're bound to find one you like: slate, pink/green (shown), purple/mint, burgundy/pink, teal/tan, and red/berry. Available @ Vitamin Ci's main store in Extraordinaire. YAY :-D

Thank You, Shelley

Shelley Pinkney was one of my first shop assistants. My store was half the size it is now, blue, and had a big ass orange in the center, waving at everyone. It looked like it was right off of a video game. Shelley would hold events such as treasure hunts, meet and greets, chat & coffee mornings, plus your run of the mill best in black club stuff. Those were the days: small, comfortable, and fun. We'd butt heads....OFTEN but we needed eachother. It's funny when I think back on all the petty arguments we used to have. She told me once "You don't thank me enough!" I rolled my eyes, sighed, and vowed to thank her EVERYDAY she was in the store. I did. I kept my promise. Right before our new store was underway, Shelley took some time off of SL, she hadn't been feeling well. She'd come on sometimes with an occasional hello, but she wasn't the 24 hour, Vitamin Ci Shelley I once knew. I couldn't wait for her to feel better and come back.

The day she'd come back and be my #1 never happened. She passed away July 15th of Lymphoma. Of course it took me a while deal with it. I'm not the type of person who talks a lot about death. I guess because the unknowns of it scare me. At first you feel a lot of regret...what you could have said/done differently. But, hopefully you get past that, and realize all the fun times you had...and we did have fun. She was so dedicated to me, my co-owner @ the time, Lone...and our store. I appreciated her so much! Today I put out a fountain in my store in rememberance of her (Thanks to Dyna Diller, Alyssa Bijoux, and Pennie Strauss). It's nothing grand...just very simple--something I can look at and smile. Thank you Shelley for being such a great person! You will be missed, but I'm sure heaven is a lot more fun than VCi! Aloha...my prayers are with your friends and family always. xoxo -Ci

It's Been a Minute

Yeah, so with no outfit last week, I had to make up for it. I hope you all can forgive me...and if not...so what ho! Here's Flora...simple, flirty, and versatile. I give my models their outfits before they tp to my portable photobooth...seems to help with rezzing *shrugs*. One of my models, Zoey Pinkdot, showed up with her zillion piercings, dark makeup, with my prissy pink dress on....I was like...hmmm...put on some boots and I wont fuss about that...lol. The picture for it came out great (shown). Then you have the classy look and somewhere in between. Whatever works. I love me models! Also available in blue, red, gray, and white :-D Enjoy!

Conflict Diamonds

What is a conflict diamond? Conflict diamonds are diamonds that are sold to fund the unlawful and illegal operations of rebel, military and terrorist groups. The countries most affected by conflict diamonds are Sierra Leone, Angola, Liberia and the Democratic Republic of Congo--all places where citizens have been terrorized, mutilated and killed by groups in control of the local diamond trade. Recently, some participating countries have started something called the Kimberly Process. The Kimberly Process accounts for more than 99% of their diamonds and insures they are non-conflict.

It's a topic that really concerns me because many conflict diamonds still find themselves in jewelry stores all over the world. Forget non-existent weapons of mass distruction. How about our funding terrorism by purchasing conflict diamonds? There are many comapanies around the world that cannot account for where their diamonds come from, according to a British based report by Global Witness: Bulgari, Cartier, and Harry Winston--failed to respond to Global Witness in writing about their policies on conflict diamonds and how they ensure that none are sold by their stores. U.S. jewelry chains, including Littman Jewelers, Whitehall Jewelers and U.S. department stores like Bloomingdales, Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue, also failed to respond.

I hope this disturbs you and makes you want to take some sort of action, even if it's as simple as buying your diamonds from non-conflict diamond retailers, who also have documentation as to where their diamonds come from. Here's a buyers guide on how to purchase a non-conflict diamond. Information can also easily be found on google.

Addiction Over...

I just got out of class today after having a freaking AWESOME 4th of July vacation. I got to see a lot of my family and.... the little niece entertained me like always. She's so fabulous! She does this little dance now, with one hand on the table, the other in the air...and she hops up and down when you sing a song. Every once in a while she uses her pacifier to hit on the table to make a beat. It's sooooo funny...and amazing. Everyone must see the Bri dance! She also can stand in place...no walking yet, but it's coming! She really makes you want to have kids...or at least, she makes ME want to!
I also got to see a lot of my cousins...some that I've not seen in ages. Two of them are totally grown up now...well, they're 12. They look like mini Beyonce and Kelly...too cute. I've always been an advocate for surrounding yourself with positive things and people and MAN...that has paid off for me.
So, what addiction am I talking about? S freaking L. Didn't even think about it much, besides selling my linden. Had no desire to log on at all! Why? A few reasons. When Brianna is dancing, who has time for SL? Also, the negativity that goes along with being there. I'm generally very quiet and to myself, yet blunt... RL and that flows over to SL as well. Some days I can be uber social but most days, not so much...some people take that as I don't like them, although I generally "like" most people. They're interesting creatures and what makes them tick is facinating. If I didn't LIKE people I wouldn't want to teach kids...to then turn them into SUCCESSFUL people. Think of it this way....I'm like, that kid that sits in the back of the class and no one really knows what they're thinking....and this kid is thinking a lot...I'm thinking, why ask people to retract their claws when you've scratched them? Why be evil to people you barely know? Why me, them or anyone? Yanno? ...the he said she said gossip going on in SL, who'd really want to hang out there when you have a GOOD life? These people who start crap don't want to solve anything. They're all to their friends "Why can't we all get along" and in the same breath downing people they don't know one thing about....I've approached my gossipers head on, to only be ignored or lied to while they continue to be evil. I'd pretty much gotten over that...what can you do? But now, the texture theives....BLAH!...It's just gotten sad. Hurting me is one thing...hurting others, I take a lot hader. I try not to pay attention to it but it still manages to poke at me now and again because I LIKE people. Good hearts are sometimes overlooked when there's no ass kissing involved...but believe me, I notice all of the positive people in my life...SL and RL...I thank you for making things enjoyable for me! Anyway, it was quite theraputic to hang with a buncha characters RL that like me back, including my neice (shown)....LOL...this is no parting letter from SL or anything, just some thoughts, that are going to require me to make a lot of changes on how I do things when in world. Maybe then I'll get my addiction back :-D

Gaucho Goodness!

Okay, so ...I've decided I dislike gaucho pants in SL just as much as I do RL! My real life self is a curvy, 5'2, pint sized ball of yummy goodness, that legs just look horrible in gaucho pants! That's a wonderful way to start off an intro to a new outfit huh? ...Well, I do believe in honesty so gotta lay it all out there. SL, it's not as bad, but there's no way I was gonna do em flexi...It just looked stupid....these days though, if a prim isn't moving...the flex prim snobs freak out...LOL...side story...some chick bought a prim dress from me that wasn't flex (she didn't read the description)...Her comment: "I guess I can give it to some newb". :-))With that being said...I've made the gaucho bells mod...and I've situated the prim so all you gotta do is turn flex on if that tickles ya fancy! But don't cry if you buy and those bells aren't movin....Irina has a top, gaucho pants and pant bells... comes in Gray, Pink, Cream (shown), and Mint. Available @ Vitamin Ci's main store in Extraordinaire. ENJOY! xoxo Ci

Yerm! I don't know...it really wasn't my intention to make myself hungry, but pastel goodness must do that to me, cause when I look at my latest outfit, I think...Icecream! Thanks to Vitamin Ci Addict, Paige Montage, we came up with the fitting name: Vitamin Ci-Parfait! Parfait consists of a top, slacks, and a cute prim bow. Comes in the delicious colors of Tangerine (as shown), Lime, Berry, and Shortcake. ENJOY! :-D

Great Week

Do you ever find yourself just exceptionally happy for no reason at all? That has been my week. Sunday, I made a vow to myself I'd have a GOOD week and it's cool... I have! LOL....I think i'll do this "making a deal with myself" thing more often. My essay for World History went smoothly...Although I don't know if I made an 'A' or not, it feels hopeful. My final history class is this Monday. Thank God for 4 week classes. This means I'll only have Exceptional Children and Field Experience left, and that ends late July. YAY! The moral of this story is to not let the little things get you down. When you look deeper, you'll find a great life, with friends, family, and sunshine! Yall be good, ya hear?! xoxo

It's Official

As of June 14, 2006 Vitamin Ci is solely mine. Yes, my co-owner Lonewolf Mackenzie has decided to start his own ventures. At first there was a little snippiness back and forth about the whole deal, but that came from my own fear. The fear that without him, I just wont be as good. He's the reason I started making clothes in the first place, and I'm hoping that without him, I don't lose my inspiration. Anyway, with that being said I hope you all wish him the best, I have...AND all of his yummy male goodness he's created thus far will continue to stay at Vitamin Ci. All male clothing from this day on will be by me. I know, be afraid...be very afraid ...lol. With school, RL, and the fact that I don't like making male clothing all that much...that area will probably come to a screeching halt as far as new things are concerned for a while. Don't fret though men. I love you too much to leave you by the wayside...as SOON as I have time, I'll do something. I appreciate you too much NOT to! Besides, I don't want you to join your buddies on the female side...we need some cute guys to look at! Thanks to all for being so supportive with not only this but generally. You guys are great! xoxo

It's a baby tee and plaid pants that come in 5 vibrant colors: Orange, Blue, Purple, Pink, and Green! Is that my logo on the front of the tees? Yes, it is! Ashamed to admit you shop at Vitamin Ci? No worries, the pants are sold seperately in a pack. Don't like plaid but you'd like to show some VCi lovin by wearing these cutie pie tees? Tees come in a seperate pack as well. A little something for everyone. Hope you EnJOY....and pray I do well on Tuesday's test!

Finding My Niche...

So, I squeezed in a little time to make an outfit: Vitamin Ci-Sierra. It comes from a pattern I used as a noobie making clothing. If anyone's been around long enough, they may remember Vitamin Ci-Jung. A HUGE difference! The stuff lines up now, there are straps, different colors, and yes...yes, Flexi prims. This dress could have definately been called "evolution" but that would have been a bit chliche! I named it Sierra because at first I was going for the whole Midwest feel, but again, it evolved....It evolved into some really awesome colors that I'm in love with. When I first started making clothes I made a lot of ethnic inspired clothing, lots of colors, even browns and beiges...people weren't feelin them, so a fellow designer suggested I stick to the reds, blacks, and things you could wear to club contests. That's probably the best advice I could have gotten because that did attract more people, and after I got enough interested, they were willing to trust me...They trust that THIS looks good, even though it's pink and green (as shown in picture). I know I wont be able to convince everyone, so I made it in gray and black to play it safe. The Vitamin Ci-Sierra Night (gray and black) actually has been my best seller of the colors so it goes to show you everyone isn't ready to walk on the wild side with me, BUT there are more and more everyday! I'm able to express my style and people still love it. I'm happy about this! Plan on seeing more color and more ethnic inspired clothing at Vitamin Ci. Why? Cause it's good for you!

RL Puts Designing on Hold

Just when I have the new flexi prims to play with, school starts back up. GAH! I can't say that I'm 100% disappointed, any excuse not to mess with prims is good enough for me, but school is going to be hell this summer. I have one class that only lasts a month but I have to go it everyday, 3 hours a day and I have another class that is only MW but involves a lot of field experience the rest of the week. So, that leaves me with very little time at home, and when I am, I'd like to spend that time with RL friends and family. Hopefully I can squeeze an outfit or two in on the weekends but there will be no suprise if I cannot. The RL fiance wants me to visit him in Germany also @ the end of the semester, until school starts back in August, which will be roughly 3 weeks. Can't be upset about that one. Plus, anytime In Europe, I have to visit as many countries as possible. If I do end up going, I'll make sure to blog it here. Money reasons is what might keep me here. I wont let him spend over 1k for a ticket when in the past I've gone on as little as 300, we'll see :-D

Imma SupaBitch Slap Ya!

*POW* *WAM* ....Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I made my latest outfit. SupaBitch comes with top, boy short type panties, socks, gloves, and of course a flex prim cape. Gotta stay with the flex craze! I wanted to do a super hero outfit but Superman, Batman, I think more creative and skilled designers should tackle those. I wanted something fun, something that would shine my personality...not that I'm a bitch or anything, but I do like to karate chop folks....and this outfit is kickass for that! Although I do like my cape, I'm most proud of my panties. Yeah, they're quite simple but it took me some time on making them look cute, and I'm happy with the result of the outfit all together...It's punky goodness but not quite. I did Red first and then asked my addict group to vote on extra colors. After a few requests, the rest of these colors won: Blue, Yellow, Pink, and Purple (shown). Anyway, that's muh spill on da SupaBitch, available @ Vitamin Ci! :-D

I'm Too Flexy for My Dress!

Man oh man, flex prims are here and as soon as I could log on to make a flex prim dress, I did. I even did the prim skirt myself! Me, the primtard made summin! Yay! Thank you Blaze Columbia for being encouraging and Lollypop Extraordinaire for your countless YAYs! Too bad I can't post them in second life forums, mine is acting wacky bah! At any rate, this morning, I figured I post my Flex yummy goodness here. The dress is quite simple, can be dressed up or down, and is completely yeeeerrrmmmmyyy! Comes in four colors: Black, Red, Emerald, and Purple! Black is shown here! Available at Vitamin Ci's main store in Extraordinaire!

Walk Like an Egyptian

Vitamin Ci-Cleo...yay

Okay, I peed myself when I got straps right the first try...but that's besides the point. Vitamin Ci-Cleo has the whole egyptian thing going for it and it is sex-ex-exah! Comes with detailed top, thong, skirt, regular and prim armbands, and a snake headband that has jewel eyes. The headband and armbands are thanks to my sexy model and friend Tasty Tiramisu. Sure, I suck at prims but she still makes sure my outfits are hooked up. YAY! I love her. Lots of accents on this outfit, you'll love! It comes in three lovely colors: Purple, Gold, and Blue. Available @ Vitamin Ci in the Extraordinaire sim. I really enjoyed making this outfit. I hope everyone enjoys wearing it.

Taking it Further

Sabrina Doolittle stopped by the store maybe three weeks ago and suggested I make some retro swimwear out of the Lauren pattern I had in a sweater set outfit. I cringed. It wasn't really a top seller so I was hesitant about taking the time to tinker with it. Well, I decided to go for it. I'm pleased I did because I produced a nice hat and glasses to go with the deal. Tasty Tiramisu made some sandals for me to add. The entire outfit surpassed my imagination! YAY! Soooo reguardless of if it sells 1 or 1,000,000 .....I'm happy! Vitamin Ci-Lauren comes with a top and skirt--to make a dress....shorts if you wanna go for the retro swimwear look, a hat, sunglasses, and these cute sandals with flowers on them. Honestly, the sandals are enough to buy the outfit. Yum! They come in wonderful colors: Pink, Orange, and Blue. I hope people like them as much as I do.

Blog Cherry

Okay, like many others, I've jumped on the blogging bandwagon. YAY! My first topic of choice is, Why Design? As a newbie to Secondlife, those were my sentiments exactly. There were so many great content creators already that I could spend my money on, why make clothes? Well, it all started with my hubby of one year, Lonewolf Mackenzie. Being the fashion guru I am, he was totally convinced I'd have a knack for this whole making clothes business. I reminded him that I'd never touched Photoshop, but like a good hubby, he encouraged me to try anyway. He asked me to just make one thing...ONE...after that, I was hooked! Now, it's an obsession. I suprise myself sometimes and with each thing I make I try to do something a little different, a little--better! I design because with each creation, no matter how small, I learn something about myself. I know that sounds cliche, but it's true. How do I handle praise, criticism, when I can't manage to get something just right? I've learned all these things about myself. With that being said, I have to show off one of my oldest outfits I have, Vitamin Ci-Brown Bamboo. It's totally photoscourced out the yang but I was so proud! If you remember where you came from, you'll never get lost!
